Our society has partnered with the Youth Volunteer Corps from Volunteer Airdrie to plant, weed and harvest a garden on the Ag Society land. As a joint effort, our members provide leadership and mentorship to the youth. Anyone is welcome to join in on the fun. The schedule rotates between a Wednesday and Thursday, from 6 – 8 pm. As in the past, the garden will be dug for Art to the Harvest with produce sold and the money donated to the Airdrie Food Bank. Seasonal vegetables are dug and taken to the Food Bank as they start to produce.

Ranch Hand Competition

Ranch Hand Competition

The annual Ranch Hand Competition was held Saturday, July 12 at the Airdrie Rodeo Grounds. We had a full slate of 12 teams with six teams competing in the Open Division and six teams in the Ladies Division. It was a very close competition this year with each individual event being won by a different team in each division. In the end our Open Division was claimed by the Pole River Ranch Team and the Ladies Division by the Simpson Ranch Cougars both of who are repeat winners from last year.

A huge thank you to all the participants, the many spectators who attended, as well as all the volunteers who helped out at the event or in the planning stages.

A special thank you to all our sponsors:

Crocus Ag Services, Pole River Ranch and Mountain Toys - Polaris
