Events
Every year the Airdrie & District Agricultural Society hosts a number of family friendly events, including the Ranch Hand Competition and our Art of the Harvest! There is something for everyone.
Garden Project
Our society partners with the Youth Volunteer Corps to plant, weed, and harvest a garden on the Ag Society land. Together, our members provide leadership and mentorship to the youth. Everyone is welcome to join.
The garden work alternates between Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6–8 pm. As in previous years, the garden supports Art of the Harvest, with produce sold to raise funds for the Airdrie Food Bank. Seasonal vegetables are also harvested and donated directly to the Food Bank as they ripen.
Volunteer activities vary throughout the season. Early sessions focus on planting, followed by watering and weeding through the summer, and harvesting in the fall.

Ranch Hand Competition
The 2026 Ranch Hand Competition will take place July 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. More information to come.
Our 2025 annual Ranch Hand Competition was held Saturday, July 12 at the Airdrie Rodeo Grounds. We had a full slate of 12 teams with six teams competing in the Open Division and six teams in the Ladies Division. It was a very close competition with each individual event being won by a different team. In the end our Open Division was claimed by the Pole River Ranch Team and the Ladies Division by the Simpson Ranch Cougars, both repeat winners from last year.
A huge thank you to all the participants, the many spectators who attended, as well as all the volunteers who helped out at the event or in the planning stages.
A special thank you to all our sponsors:
