Building and growing in the community

The mandate of the Airdrie and District Agricultural Society is to promote agriculture and agriculture related activities in the community. To do this, we rely on the dedication of qualified board members, members, volunteers and employees who help create a successful ADAS experience.

Our focus also includes the greater community of Airdrie. For example, the ADAS was instrumental in promoting the construction of the Twin Arenas in Airdrie. Not only did this move expand the chances for more children and user groups to take advantage of the ice surfaces, it also offered greater access and convenience for residents in surrounding areas.

To further promote the importance of knowledge and education, ADAS also offers post-secondary scholarships to two students per year who wish to pursue study in the field of agriculture or other industries.

Other proud contributions include:

  • Hosting, organizing and funding the annual Airdrie Fall Fair.
  • Contributing to the building of the four-pack diamonds operated by Chinook Winds.
  • Sponsoring the Communities in Bloom program.
  • Operating the City Slickers program to inner city kids to experience rural life.
  • Supporting numerous local 4-H clubs with funding and resources.
  • Hosting regular steer shows for local youth.
  • Donating regularly to various non-profit organizations (Meals on Wheels, Optimists Club).

The Membership Advantage:

Over 40 members receive the values and benefits that only come with being a part of the Airdrie and District Agricultural Society. From educational workshops, access to ag-based programs and networking opportunities, ADAS can expand your presence in the agricultural community.

For only two dollars per year, you can receive up-to-date information on upcoming events, participate in meetings and events that make difference in your industry.
