About Us

We’d like to tell you how much the Airdrie and District Agricultural Society (ADAS) has and continues to contribute to your community. Besides promoting agriculture and agriculture related activities the Ag Society has been instrumental in planning and developing numerous projects in Airdrie. A team of dedicated volunteers from the area contribute their time and effort to turn ideas and visions into a reality.

One example of such a vision was the construction of the renamed, Ebberson Twin Arena. This addition to the city helped forge a stronger community by bringing together a larger number of youth, parents and community members to participate in sport and recreation.

Other proud contributions include:

• Hosting, organizing and funding the annual Airdrie Fall Fair.
• Contributing to the building of the four-pack diamonds operated by Chinook Winds.
• Sponsoring the Communities in Bloom program.
• Operating the City Slickers program for inner city kids to experience rural life.
• Supporting numerous local 4-H clubs with funding and resources.
• Hosting regular steer shows for local youth.
• Donating regularly to various non-profit organizations (Meals on Wheels, Farm Women-Decision with Vision Conference,).

To further promote the importance of knowledge and education, ADAS also offers post-secondary scholarships to two students per year who wish to pursue study in the field of agriculture or other industries.
